Progress at Heworth Green
11 Jul 2007
Despite the exceptionally adverse summer weather conditions the contractor is maintaining good progress, and the building is now nearly watertight.
The structural steel frame and internal floors are complete along with the concrete staircases, the roofing works are virtually complete and the external cladding systems are well underway.
It is expected that the feature external Kalwall paneling to the staircases and external rainscreen ceramic granite cladding tiles will be installed in the next few weeks.
Heworth Green Ventures have let the two upper floors to the south side of the building and the design for the fit out package is being progressed. The first fix mechanical & electrical installation has now commenced and the following few months should see a dramatic progress of the internal part of the project.
A landscaping designer has now been appointed to prepare a scheme commensurate with a building of this nature close to the centre of York and a specialist lighting contractor is looking to prepare a quality external lighting scheme.
