P+HS Architects runs an integrated local area computer network throughout its offices, with each member of staff allocated their own fully integrated multi-tasking workstation and personal email address. The two P+HS Architects offices run their own independent networks, with an ADSL data link between the offices for rapid internal data sharing.

Software

We run industry standard software which is common to all our team enabling seamless exchange of electronic information within the team and to clients, colleagues and contractors. This software encompasses word-processing, spreadsheets, project programming, drawing and design, presentation and graphics. Where clients or other consultants use alternative software, the team will ensure that data is supplied in an accessible format.

Specialist software

In addition to standard office software we run a variety of software which is specific to our specialisms and the services that we offer and is regularly updated:

• Drawing and design (AutoCAD Architectural Desktop)
• Technical and product reference (Barbour Index)
• NBS Specification Writer
• Building Regulations
• Health reference (NHS Estates Technical Indexes)
• Health space and detail planning (NHS ADB and Codebook)
• Space modelling and visualisation (3D Studio Viz, Sketchup and add-ons)
• Graphics and presentation (Publisher, Quark, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Powerpoint)

Using these software installations and our range of high quality colour laser printing we can offer rapid and controlled presentation facilities for our clients.

Extranet, Intranet and The Web

P+HS has its own intranet, shared between offices for single-point information to the office. Password-protected this is an internal reference source, also used for project hosting. Web access is available at every desktop.

IT investment

P+HS Architects has a policy of regularly updating both hardware and software to ensure that the practice operates at maximum efficiency and with the greatest compatibility with clients and colleagues.
